{SCOTLAND} DAY TOUR MAY’16: Loch Ness, Glencoe & The Scottish Highlands

It is still not so bad to book local tour myself instead of buying a tour package from Singapore tour agent which will only give a limited timeframe to visit as many places at one go and spending most of the time travelling on bus.

Of course, everything has its good and bad. The good thing to follow on tour group is to save you from trouble on planning and sourching for flight ticket, accomodation, transportation, places to eat, attraction, entertainment and etc. I can’t deny that they will have good deals but I’m sure that there will have appealing and cheaper deals somewhere else. This is good for those who has language barriers and who don’t like to plan. The bad thing is you have to follow through all their itinerary even though some of the places that you would like to visit are not included. If you do not have trouble communicating, able to read signboard and love to experience the local culture, I would suggest pack and go yourself. Is not hard to plan though. Tired but worth the trip.

Or you can be like me. Plan the itinerary myself. Book the flight and accomodation myself. Join some of the local tour there. For my research, you can book local tour either through TripAdvisor or Viator. They are like the centre of all local tour agents. Or maybe you got some other better deals.

Let’s stop talking and show you where I had been.

I had booked all my local tour through Viator. (I will show you slowly. Be patient.)

DRIVER / GUIDE FROM RABBIES

He is totally a funny and well-informative guide. He was able to talk for 12 hrs straight. The only time he stopped talking was playing the country music. On top of that, he can even introduce all the songs he played. Sound like a DJ. Isn’t it? I really enjoyed his ride very much. Thumbs up for him.

Fort Augustus – Loch Ness

Before we got our 1 hr boat ride on the loch, we can visit the town.IMGL4934IMGL4939IMGL4940IMGL4937IMGL4935IMGL4933IMGL4932IMGL4931IMGL4942IMGL4944

There is always a queue for the 1 hr boat ride. It allows outside food & drinks on the boat. So normally people will buy from any of the cafe there and bring along with them on boat. For me, I have no time to eat during the boat ride. I will be busily snapping pictures. One important thing to note. There is seasonal period for the boat ride. Do check before you head there.

Sadly, I never got to see NESSIE the monster in action.

End of the whole boat ride, I got myself a toy Nessie instead.16-04-30-19-57-11-381_photo.jpg

Thumbs up for the local tour agent and local tour guide.16-04-30-20-05-52-694_photo
